Happy 4th of July Pheasant Families:

We all know that we are in flexible, inconsistent times with Covid19 and how to reopen school facilities. 

I'd like to give a few messages to the community on where the Parker School District is at this moment in time.  

  • The Parker School District is currently moving to Phase 2 in our activities phases, we are going to use a hybrid of Phase 2/3 simply because we have some coaches that would like to participate in some team camps if they can gain interest.  These events are completely voluntary for student athletes, please review the risks with your family before deciding to participate in the camps.  The Phase 2/3 ReOpen Plan is currently posted on our website.
  • The Parker School District is currently developing a plan to Return to Learn in the fall for the 2020-2021 school year.  The committee consists of administration, department of health, teachers, school board member, parents of Parker students, and community members.  We will be developing our Return to Learn plan in the coming weeks, and have set July 8th, July 13th, and finally July 28th as dates to complete our initial plans.  Among many other factors, which plan we decide to go with will be determined by local community spread of the coronavirus with input from the SD DOH and SD DOE.  We will also be waiting for information from the SDHSAA about activities and athletics.  The goal is to have our plan out to the community by August 3rd, 2020.  
  • At this point in time, we fully anticipate having traditional face to face instruction starting on August 26th, 2020.  However, please take time to discuss your personal preferences, concerns, and family plans must the school district move to remote learning, or a combination of both.

  Pheasant Fans:    Personal message    from Dr. Donavan G. DeBoer      I am personally excited for the upcoming State Volleyball Tournament.   As the superintendent of our school district, seeing our student athletes perform at state tournaments never get old.   I am proud of our team and the work that our ladies and our coaches have put in to perform in Watertown.   And I am so thankful for them allowing us as fans to come along for the ride.      Our players have not only had to put efforts in the classroom and on the court, but they have all had to sacrifice personal time to stay safe and healthy due to the coronavirus.   FANS!!!   We need to do the same.   Please set the example in Watertown.   Cheer loud, cheer proud, be respectful.   Please follow mask protocols and social distance protocols so when we come back to our community, we keep everyone healthy and safe.        Coaches, students, athletes – when you are in the public eye you represent yourselves, your teams

 The Parker School Board accepted/awarded the bid for our new additions to Fiegen Construction on May 10, 2021.  The general contractor will now meet with us the week of May 17th to develop construction timelines on our new elementary school, and renovation of the current elementary school to house our junior high and high school students.  We will continue to update you on our progress.  #parkerpride
